Thanksgiving Favorites Recipes: Cranberry Bread

For any holiday at our house, a dessert tray with a variety of finger food sweets is a must. No Thanksgiving dessert tray would be complete without the Thanksgiving favorite, cranberry bread.

From my home to yours, and my holiday to yours, Thanksgiving holiday favorites recipe, Cranberry Bread.

Cranberry Bread

 Ingredients

Flour  2 cups

Sugar  1 cup

Baking powder 1 1/2 teaspoons

Salt 1 teaspoon

Baking soda 1/2 teaspoon

Cranberry juice cocktail 1/2 cup

Oil 2 tablespoons

Egg 1 well beaten

Fresh Cranberries 1 1/2 cups (fresh or frozen)

Chopped nuts 1/2 cup

 

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350º.

2. Grease a 9 x 5-inch loaf pan.

3. Sift together flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and baking soda in a medium mixing bowl.

4. Stir in cranberry juice cocktail, shortening, and egg.

5. Mix until well blended.

6. Stir in cranberries and nuts.

7. Spread evenly in a loaf pan.

8. Bake for 55 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

9. Cool on a rack for 15 minutes.

10. Remove from pan; cool completely.
